Situated on the western most point of Europe, bordered by the Atlantic on the west and Spain on the north and east, Portugal is a traditional country with a vast history.
It’s vibrant capital, Lisbon, receives the most sunshine hours than any other European city. It has a unique atmosphere unlike any other place in the world. Lisbon has a picturesque charm with lots to see and do, amazing cuisine and nightlife and beautiful surrounding hills and countryside. Lisbon has been witnessing a big regeneration programme and there are many historical buildings that contain stunning modern apartments for sale and bright lofts that have retained the romantic facades that give Lisbon it’s beauty, style and unique charm. Cascais is an area only 30km from Lisbon. Traditionally a fishermans’ village, Cascais’s picturesque, historic centre has many shops and restaurants, a marina and beautiful sandy beaches including the well-known Guincho Beach. It is a great compromise if you are looking for a quieter, beachside luxury house, but not too far from a vibrant city. The Algarve is probably the most popular and well-known area of Portugal with some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and equally famous for it’s stunning green golf courses. Many luxury homes can be found here in areas such as Vale do Lobo, Albufeira and Vilamoura which are the prime locations for exclusive, prestigious modern apartments and seafront villas for sale with all modern comforts. Lastly, Porto, famous for its stunning Duoro wines and Port, is an ancient port city in the north of Portugal. Located on the Duoro River, Porto’s medieval section was made a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996 and is a short distance away from the UNESCO World Heritage site of the spectacular Duoro Valley. Emerging from it’s sister-city’s shadow, it is becoming one of Europe’s ‘must-go-to’ destinations and is seeing some of the redevelopment that Lisbon has benefited from.
