Campo de Ourique Real Estate

Campo de Ourique faced an important urban reconstruction back in 1879 and was founded by the Portuguese architect Frederico Ressano Garcia (PT). Being one of the seven hills of Lisbon, the territory was stage and witness to many events in history.

It survived the tragic events of 1755 when an earthquake followed by a tsunami devasted and tore down the entire city, killing tens of thousands of people and later on housing the surviving ones.

Later under António Salazar’s government in 1939, it also carried an important part in history by becoming home to jew refugees who escaped the Second World War (PT), just as other locations in the city. Traveling back to the present, the neighbourhood saw its outskirts evolving with time and become surrounded by many places of interest, such as the modern Amoreiras Shopping Center.
